THE FOUNDER'S / JOURNEY AND STORY

Willy and Luca met each other in 2016 in Florence Italy. Both working in the fashion industry, Willy as a designer & product developer after successfully graduating in fashion design. Luca gained experience in a buying office with a background in finances. We have a passion for finding new and innovative ways to work more sustainably, locally and efficiently with resources and decided that a big change always starts with yourself. Adar was born.

LADY RIPPLE & SAVE THE BEES

Bees are a substantial part of the ecosystem and the life of this planet. They pollinate flowers and trees, increase the biodiversity and produce food. These superheroes in their black and yellow suits hold a special place in our hearts. This is why we teamed up with Lady Ripple, a Bee Conservation NGO in Florence Italy. Together we donate 3 Euros from each Sneaker sold and adopt Bees with building Beehives in Tuscany. Go to the website to find out more about Lady Ripple and their extraordinary work with Bees.

WHERE DO WE PRODUCE

We fully source and produce our sneakers in Italy. This allows us to not only ensure the highest quality but also, lower Co2 emission due to shorter transport routes and good working conditions for everyone involved in the production.

Our sneakers are hand made in a small, family-owned manufacturer in Veneto, Italy. The region is infamous for its long lasting tradition in shoemaking and a production place of many European luxury brands. We are proud to work with passionate artisans who consider shoemaking rather an art than just a craft.

APPLE LEATHER EXPLAINED

Apple leather is a leather-like material that is completely vegan. It is produced in Tuscany by the italian manufacturer Mabel. The northern region of Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige is famous for its apple trees and the juice industry. Mabel uses the before thrown away discards of that industry, pulverizes and then naturally dries them into powder. This powder is then combined with a polyurethane paste after drying again. The result is an extremely durable and cruelty free product.

The italian apple leather is our signature material and we use it in all of our sneakers.
